For Ryan Sheckler, it’s always good to share the podium with the homies. And although Oakley’s Superstar didn’t pick up the X Games Skateboard Street Gold this year, he at least took second behind one worthy champ: P-Rod. “I was just happy to land my run,” Ryan said, rocking his Oakley eyewear. “It just worked out. I really wanted to land that back 3 and I got that, so I’m stoked,” Sheckler said. “I’m very excited to be up here. I haven’t had a podium finish in a minute, so I’m stoked.”
This year’s X Games marked the 18th edition of the tried-and-true action and motor sports event. One man who’s been a consistent figure at the contest: Rune Glifberg. The 37-year-old Denmark native has competed in every Summer X Games since its conception. Glifberg took the bronze medal in the Men’s Skateboard Park, bringing his X Games medal tally to 11. He had previously won the event in 2008 and 2009.

The Brazilian, who tweaked his lower back during practice earlier in the week, dropped into the Finals with his usual aura of greatness, throwing down a killer 94.33 third run laced with an Indy 720 over to Fakie – squatting out of the run.
