But fellow Oakley speed skater Keiichiro Nagashima had something else in mind. Despite Kato’s domination of the season opening meet last Friday with a 34.85 second finish (the Olympic Bronze Medalist’s eighth career title), the 500m race on Sunday saw Nagashima power past his countryman for a 34.97 second finish for the victory.
Oakley’s Beijing Summer Games medalist and former Florida State track star Walter Dix broke two track records at the Seminole Twilight at the Mike Long Track on Saturday. Dix ran a blistering 100m time of 9.98 that set a new FSU record and then continued to break records in the 200m as he ran a time of 19.89. Both of Dix’s performances rank second in the world.
