    On July 26th and 27th, Oakley was invited to team up with Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. This year’s induction honored Rich Gossage, known to most as “Goose”. Goose, the only player to be inducted this year, drew quite the crowd.

    Oakley’s Brian Lopes and Steve Blick will be inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame during a ceremony at Interbike 2008 at the Sand’s Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday, September 24th.

    Oakley is supplying the climbing and hiking gear to Bonner Paddock, who has decided to do something that no person with cerebral palsy probably has ever done. Last winter, he began training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. His goal is to raise $250,000 to help launch the United Cerebral Palsy OC’s Early Childhood Learning Center.

And so, in the name of world peace and global happiness, Oakley sent a crew to High Cascade Snowboard Camp last week, where Gretchen Bleiler and Nicolas Mueller were hosting Signature Session 3.

    MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner continued his spectacular return to form with victory at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, his third win in as many races. The Ducati rider braved the wet conditions of the Sachsenring circuit and appeared equally adept to the task as he had been in the dry practice sessions, a sign that will have his title rivals preoccupied for the second half of the season.

    Just a month before he represents the United States in the 2008 Olympic Games, 18-year-old Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo.) earned a junior world championship in the 3,000-meter individual pursuit on Saturday as part of his final preparation for the Games. Meanwhile, joining Phinney on the medal stand was American Colleen Hayduk (Kutztown, Pa.), who earned a bronze medal in the scratch race.

He’s been the man to beat all contest and he’s posted two 8.5’s. But when Nat Young took off on a set, with a few minutes remaining, he went into a succession of backhand hacks that earned him a come from behind win in the most prestigious amateur contest in the country.

    In 2007 Amber was the first female wake boarder to land a 720. A trick only one other female rider has accomplished since then. Fast forward a year later to the harsh desert conditions and 115 degree temperatures at Firebird Lake in Phoenix, Arizona. Amber Wing makes history again, and lands the 1st ever 720 by a female wake boarder in competition.
